About Us

The Leslie County Band is a musical group comprised of about 120 students, grades 5-12, from all 4 county elementary schools, LCMS, and LCHS.  Any student who is in 5th grade and up may join the band.  Elementary groups meet once a week in a pull out class while middle and high school bands meet daily during regularly scheduled class periods.  The bands put on at least two concert tours within the school system, one for Christmas and one in the spring.  The LCMS/LCHS band is also a regular participant in the Mary Breckinridge Parade and the Parade of Lights.  The Bands can also be seen at home football and basketball games, as well as traveling with the teams to tournaments.  Students in the middle and high school groups may also be seen participating in honors bands along with other outstanding young musicians from schools all over the state.
